Description
Expedition XTREME is the only sport-utility snowmobile in the line. One of its main differences is the two-stroke 165-horsepower Rotax 850 E-TEC engine. This is installed on mountain and sport models, it provides instant power gain and excellent dynamics. In addition, the engine is lighter than four-stroke engines, which has a positive effect on controllability.
Another important feature of the model is the KYB Pro 36 rear shock absorber with a remote reservoir and adjustable compression, designed for high-speed off-road driving.
Less significant differences from other Expedition models are a low mountain strap, flexible hand protection and Pilot DS 3 skis, adapted for aggressive riding.
Otherwise, Expedition XTREME is very similar to its utility-tourist “brothers”. It has an SC-5U rear suspension with a breakable “heel”, which makes it easier to move in reverse. If necessary, it can be fixed in the lower position – for towing, for example.
The front suspension is lever-type. Unlike the telescopic one, it handles unevenness better and is more comfortable at high speed. The wide track of the skis – 975 or 1020 mm – increases the stability of the snowmobile, making it less rollable during maneuvers.
The EasyShift gearbox has a downshift, which will be useful when towing heavy loads, moving slowly in deep snow and overcoming steep climbs.
The track is large for maximum cross-country ability. Its length is 3912 mm, and its width is 508 mm. The height of the lugs is 46 mm.
